Saturday mornings are typically my time to ride.
I have a wife and a kid and a cat so free time is minimal.
Ive been on and off again sick since early July but finally i felt like riding this morning. It did not go well. A healthy dose of quality coffee got things off to a good start...
But then i remembered i still needed to repair the rear flat on my cx bike...
(btw, anyone want to buy a Ethan Allen queen size bed frame? $200)
I could have taken the road bike but its on the trainer in the basement and getting it up to the main floor sounded exhausting so i set on about fixing the flat and quickly located the issue...
I found an old tire in the basement and got it on the rim only to find out that for whatever reason it wouldn't inflate. Pump problem, tube problem, user error, whatever the case by this point i was very frustrated and opted to ride my mountain bike instead. The singletrack is all closed so it would be a road ride, but ive always enjoyed riding my mountain bike on the road...
So i set off to do the Leawood North Loop. It's a route ive been into lately and i time myself. I add a bit to the route and it takes me about 45 minutes. I've done it on the road bike and the cross bike but never the mountain bike so i was interested to see how my time would stack up...

However the weak sauce express was only just warming up and my rear tire developed a slow lead so i called it quits 15 minutes into the loop. In hindsight i probably could have finished because it ended up sealing itself but i lost my nerve and headed home to make a high priced fancy pants weak sauce bike ride recovery drink...
