Sherron Marlon Collins

"Ladies and gentlemen, the winningest player in Kansas basketball history... Sherron Collins!"

After Coach Bill Self uttered those words the crowd went nuts and Sherron stepped to the mike to give his Senior night speech. He has played his last game in Allen Field House, beating the 5th ranked K State Wildcats, and now it's time to give a big thank you to everyone who helped him along the way and say goodbye to the University he loves. He cried, the crowd loved it, it was a great day to be a Jayhawk.

Sherron won more games in a KU uniform than any player in the history of the school. That's saying a lot. Not to mention the fact that he was a crucial part of winning the National Championship game two years ago. If you'll remember... Down 7 with 1:54 to go against Memphis he got the steal and on the same possession hit the 3 that gave KU hope, then less than 2 minutes later he dished the assist to Mario that sent the game into OT. I love how he almost screws up the pass, falls, and then stays on the ground watching as the shot goes in.

Dude's amazing.

Dude's tough.

He's the man.

*That was also likely to be Cole's last game at Allen Field House and the hug he shared with Collins right before the game ended was sincere and touching. They grew pretty close these last couple years, what an amazing duo.

*Thanks to mom for taking the photos.

Rock Chalk Sherron!
